Man Utd Kit Launch Event
An exclusive launch event held by adidas to reveal their final instalment of Manchester United match kit for the 18/19 season.
The adidas store on Market Street in Manchester was transformed into a pop-up newsagents to launch United’s new away kit – a pastel pink design inspired by the famous Manchester Evening News ‘Football Pink’ newspaper. Attendees were exclusively able to buy the new shirt, as well as meet a host of special guests throughout the two-day celebration.
To add to the experience, we were commissioned to set-up and operate a live print station, producing custom posters as souvenirs for the attendees to take away. The aim was to provide an engaging, hands-on activity for modern fans who exist in a digital world by demonstrating the significance of the printed page and its importance in football history.
Attendees had their portrait taken by a professional photographer before customising their own posters using our pre-designed templates featuring quotes, slogans and imagery relating to Manchester United and The Football Pink. The Football Pink newspaper was about creating headlines on the spot, sending to press and getting the word out there as quickly as possible. We replicated this process by allowing the fans to create their own headlines, print their posters and share them with the world.
